JACK MARTIN as Ben Hall
Jack Martin takes the title role of Australia's most prolific bushranger.
The last person to portray Hall was British actor Jon Finch in the 1975 television series produced by the ABC-BBC and 20th Century Fox. Director Matthew Holmes was instantly impressed with Jack's physical resemblence to the the real character, only to be further impressed by his acting skills and ability to portray real and raw emotions.
Jack considers himself a storyteller rather than an actor. He sources his experience from life, his insight from relentless self-critique, and his craft from hard work.
At his own admission, this is just a fancy way to say he hasn't really done that much worth mentioning at all. After a chance introduction to the Australian television industry, the joy of that experience drew him further into the art of filmmaking, taking on light training in Sydney as he simultaneously attempted to exercise these lessons working on various short film and theatre projects.
After becoming serious about a career in that line of work, he dedicated 2013 to full-time training in Melbourne and after recovering from that inexplicable journey, turns his full attention to 'The Legend Of Ben Hall'.
"What drew me to the project initially was definitely the historical aspect. To have the opportunity to combine two of my passions in both acting and Aussie history has already been an incredible experience... and we're only just beginning!"
