With a childhood exposed to the arts and music, it was a belligerent spirit that saw a 17-year old Cris throw away an arts degree - after excelling in fine arts at secondary school - to pursue a life of menial labour.
An epiphany after being retrenched saw him recognise and rekindle his love of dramatic arts, and ignited the desire to pursue this artistic endeavour, Cris Cochrane is now a hard working Melbourne actor focused on establishing a name for himself by delivering powerful performances and sometimes confronting characters.
"I believe that often, life experience is the best tutor, get out there, and live life...then bring that understanding and realness back to your art. To be involved in 'The Legend of Ben Hall' gives everyone involved a wonderful opportunity to tell an important piece of Australian history that is largely unknown. Personally I am so excited to see the level of detail and care put into the production and know that this will be a landmark Australian film event."
